How to take a money-saving Eco-friendly Staycation (stay at home on vacation)

Here's an idea that no holiday break the bank. It will give your family many times and well deserved rest and keep it green (more tips and join the movement to be environmentally friendly in www.ecofriendlymovement.com). Especially in these times of high GAS PRICES times …

Take a "Staycation"

You say, "What in the world is a Staycation? "Well, it is just a vacation where you stay home, do all the fun things that do not have time to
do while are working or going to school, and you have fun doing it at home or in your local area. Staycations are very environmentally friendly because they are limiting the use of fuel precious by not traveling to a destination, their home is their destiny. Also see Eco-tips mentioned in this article.

Okay, are you ready for fun! Here are the steps you must take:

As with any other "traditional" holidays, you need to plan and make some decisions before you "embark" on their journey. REMEMBER: The planning and anticipation of the trip is half the fun.

PLANNING AND PREPARATION OF PHASE:

Coordinate calendars

1. Decide when you will be available all

2. Who invited you (other than immediate family), do not forget to ask grandmother, grandfather or favorite aunt to join you in your Staycation. Be sure to mention that this is a staycation and fun times only … do not worry or trouble discussed.

3. How long will your "trip" last?

4. Choose a travel coordinator who is responsible for determining the what the family activities / ideas they would most like to see happen during the staycation and this person is responsible for setting the daily programmed activities (see below). TIP: In our family Mom or Grandma is the coordinator.

The activities planned for each day staycation

5. Deepen in the interests of each staycation member and form activities around that interest … shift with each member … this too will everyone to think of others and share each others interests.

6. Play tourist and go to their Chamber of Commerce or Convention and Visitors Bureau. Pick up brochures, maps or any thing that will make you think about "short trips" in your area. You will be amazed at the places you did not know, right in your own backyard. Do not forget go online and learn about your town, city or state and see what you can see (No harm to fall into a few elements of education, along with the fun … nobody will know the difference if you do it properly).

7. Develop a schedule of planned activities and at home since staycation (see below for Planning Activities Ideas). This will allow each staycation member know what will happen during the staycation. Remember that not … if someone wants to stress suggest changes or has some other fun things to add to the list … that's what I want to see … participation!

8. Plan Downtime in the calendar of activities. This is the time that everyone can do their own thing, and hide their rooms, going online, napping, or just do nothing. Every vacation needs a certain amount of downtime. TIP: Remember to schedule this time, but if someone is not feeling well, not just let that stress has a little more time. They will come around when they feel they are losing some laughs. Also remember it is like a vacation, so I get up late and staying up late.

9. Activities provided they are fun to create specifically targeted at members of your staycation. Here are some ideas that have been successful:

a. Visit museums, aquariums, historical sites, or any place of interest in your area. Most of these places are free, fun and educational. Do not forget even libraries can be fun places to visit. No matter how small your people can always find something to watch that's interesting.

b. Visit any park national, state parks, city parks or ball fields at the school. Getting outside is the best way to have fun and be healthy at the same time. It is a great place to have a picnic, play ball, swim, walk, walk, and fish or simply read a book under a tree. Eco-Tip: Remember, no pollution, and whatever you get, take home with you and dispose of them probably.

c. Visit your own backyard. You can have a lot of fun right in your own backyard. A cook-out, invite people over (remember that each member of the staycation invite a friend), Cook smores, tell ghost stories, making star gazing astronomy, organize a treasure hunt, run a drive-in (foreign) film (you can put blankets on the grass, put the most TV / DVD outdoors, rent a pro – family movie or pay-per-view, serve popcorn and let the fun begin.

d. Plant a tree in your yard, have a dedication ceremony, invite neighbors (perhaps because the idea and want to help the environment by planting your own tree). This is a big Eco-Tip!

e. Keep game night, every night. You can play cards, board games, building puzzles, riddles, interactive electronic games, movie nights, scavenger hunts, or you can go to a local gallery or cinema. This is one that tries to get everyone to participate in the more better. TIP: Some families do this type of activity at least once a week, even when it is staycation.

f. Run a talent night, if your family is so prone to performers or have some special talent. This is a great way to have a lot of laughs (Remember to laugh with someone not someone, ha ha!).

g. Joining an organization like a family and donate their time and effort to help the "cause." With this article staycation is on its way to becoming the ecological environment Why not join the eco-friendly movement as a family to go to www.ecofriendlymovement.com you can join and learn all the ways your family can start saving the planet. Another Big Eco-tip!

You can also take this opportunity to make a scrapbook, depending on the level of interest staycation members, which could be a lot of fun. Staycationers Some have even gone to cemeteries to trace genealogies, and had fun doing it.
Eco-Tip: Remember to save paper and take digital photos and create photo albums computer-generated.

i. Make a day of spa for girls (or any who wants to participate).

Eco-Tip: Use the elements already have around the house … reuse of handicrafts.

l. Take a walk, run or jog family style. Having an "adventure", depending on the age of your children it is great fun to do-seek in his adventure. ECO-TIP: If you are walking pick up trash along the street!

10. Theme Staycations are a lot of fun. You can plan for the entire length of your holiday as a theme or simply a day's topic. Here are some theme staycations that could fit into their plans:

Adventure Outdoor-Try this one if the family has camped out or not. It is sleeping, cooking and eating out. This activity is great fun for all ages.

Tropical Island-You not even need to be near the beach. Dress in island wear, shorts, flowered Hawaiian shirts, flip-flops, drink tropical concoctions, and stayed around reading books. Remember to make the island suitable for food, usually grilled.

When the time comes preparing food, mom's vacation too, so we all pitch in helping take turns cooking and cleaning especially easy to prepare meals. Do not forget the grill, grilling, grilling is fun and easy to clean.

Make reservations at local restaurants. This is your opportunity to try this local place of the street that happen every day and "just have not had time to stop testing. You can also get meals any something that is fun and makes it an easy part of the staycation.

Make a shopping list and food shop before staycation. With the exception of some items pick-up, like milk or bread, take all food purchased long before the beginning of your Staycation. Eco-Tip: Take reusable shopping bags of groceries.
