What does a dawn / dusk light settings look?
In my tank I am thinking of buying a light that has sunrise / sunset for configuration 24-h light … What makes this type of lighting it? Can anyone give me a picture? (this light is halide) thanks!
Has to do with Actinics or T-5 with the halides. One accessory that is able to do that you have separate cables in order to put the T-5 in a different clock to the halides. Timers type Holidays are the best way to run the lights in a reef tank, so no long and not have to worry about activating them. Most people have only t-5 actinic lights come on for an hour or 2 before the halides. The t-5 only create a dark blue light of low level as the dawn / dusk. The reason to do this is one to gradually acclimate the fish to the bright morning light and let the fish know it's going to be dark and early to start looking for a hideout. Also halides should only burn for about 8 hours a day and the actinics for about 12 hours a day.
