What is the best way to remove calcium / scale buildup of lime around the aquarium accessories?
The best thing you can use in the accumulation of hard water is distilled white vinegar. Spray it on the accumulation and then wipe with a paper towel. The longer the vinegar is left in contact with accumulation, most successful. You can also use the vinegar with a knife of great results on the glass. Sprinkle the vinegar, let stand in, and the use of knife to remove the deposits. If any of the vinegar gets into the aquarium, it will not matter unless your tank is very small. If it is too small, can have a change in the pH. If this happens, just do a normal water change.
