The creation and design of a saltwater aquarium requires adequate knowledge of different equipment and materials. The accessories are not just for aesthetic purposes but also for the development of a healthy marine environment.
There are some accessories and important in protecting saltwater aquarium. One is the special additives such as Kalkwasser (calcium), strontium and iodine. These enhance the beauty of rocks and encourage the growth of pink coralline algae. Kalkwasser is calcium hydroxide solution, which captures carbon dioxide to create bicarbonate ions. Strontium solutions are used to open the corals. Iodine is used by algae, bacteria, fish, coralline algae and other invertebrates.
Living Invertebrates are creatures of accessories that feed on a wide variety of algae. They are safe for the reef. Examples of invertebrates are crabs, sponges, shrimps and shells.
Live sand helps beneficial bacteria to convert nitrate nitrogen. The recommended thickness is 3 "to 6" as ideal for the rock bed. They are used as substrates.

Heater and thermometer are important because the water temperature should be maintained at 74-78 degrees Fahrenheit. Heaters are used to maintain warm temperature, especially during the winter. Of a unit additional heating is a good option for backup use.
Synthetic salt mixes are specially formulated Aqua salts used for water sea and the condition of salinity levels. Must be closed to the natural composition of sea water and away from unwanted impurities. It is important to know how it was prepared (composition) and the source of freshwater. Hydrometer is a device to check the gravity and salinity. Some devices are sold without calibration however, are high precision units. Most units are hard plastic which makes them durable.
