What specific brand of light to be used for a turtle tank?
I am making a pet turtle and have a tank 20 gallon long with a top of the screen. I know I need UVA and UVB light, and one of them has to be basking light. Does it matter who is in the sun lamp? And you have to buy a full aquarium hood, or is there a smaller / least expensive type of accessory? Thanks so much!
Austin's Turtle Page is a great resource for information, and have an active forum where you can get answers to people who know the turtles inside out. There is some good lighting on this page if you scroll down a bit: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/housing.htm But to answer your question, no, I really not think it matters which is which. Only I could find to UV bulb-shaped, so for me, the UVA is basking lamp and UVB fluorescent tube. Depends on what you have on your pet store actually. Your pet store may also be able to help with light fittings suitable for your tank!
