Saltwater aquarium information?
Hey, I'm thinking of starting a 125 maybe 135 liters of saltwater Reef Aquarium. What are the supplies necessary to do this? (Tanks, filters, etc.) If you can name a specific model of each item that would be great. Thanks
Before going to buy equipment, you shuold ask first if you are fully ready for a ton of work total. If you're ready for the hard work ahead, and then continue to read. You need the following: 1. the tank (125 liters) 2. good Filteration system (possibly those that are recommended for 150 gallons +) 3. a very good skimmer Protien 4. live sand from the store 5. Rock Live (it is recommended to cure) of a store 6. VERY good lighting, lighting + 130Watts probably double or more, is great too. Make sure the mixture in a low light or actnic too. 8. heater / Hydromet 9. ammonia, nitrate, etc. water test kit The rest can be optional. The only reason I do not recommend having more than 1 filter is great, especially if you have a reef tank (tank with live rock) that make the most of your filter and the water cycle. Some tips. 1. 5-15 Do not add more pouds of live rock at a time. preferably in a cycle of 4-7 days. Live rock is like fish fluctuate water quality, and where many of them are introduced, the rock and do not die. 2. add fish at the end. after putting all your rock live and is cycled at least a week or two. 1 fish every 4 days is recommended. Constantly monitor water quality 3.Make your fish and coral / live rock is along. 4. are not only on Yahoo Answers, Google is used, local library, local fish store or even a professional saltwater.
