I have a (empty of fish at the time) 10-gallon aquarium. Tell me if I need a decoration more or less?
I have a 10 gallon vacuum without fish so far (going through the process of cycling). It looks pretty good, but I would like to add a cache of something for them to swim through this: http://www.petco.com/product/104169/PETCO-Greek-4-Column -Ruins-Aquarium-Ornament.aspx Right now in my tank I have the following: * 1 small indeed "better" ground floor * 1 Background * 1 plant size midground * 3 Size of the plant in the foreground tank still seems very extensive. Do I have enough space to add a rock to swim through the column or Greek thing? Or that would be pushing? These are two pictures of my tank: 1) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/emilyekk/fishtank001.jpg 2) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/emilyekk/fishtank002.jpg Oh! And the fish I want are definitely a Betta, and perhaps a corycats school or school of neon tetras.
Sure you can add more decorations the tank. Neons have to have plenty of places to hide or get nervous. The more places you have to hide, rather than leave. Neon lights are also quite delicate, and prefer soft water. I live in a place with very hard water, so I have not been able to successfully maintain. Bettas appreciate good coverage and plants on the surface Water well. I recommend getting a female betta, indeed, short fins to make them better swimmers not to get stuck in the filter as a man can. The Men also seem to get their fins bitten by fish, even the most docile. Corys need fine gravel because they like to dig in by falling debris unless you want to change the gravel, you may not want the Corys. Corys also like to have a piece of driftwood to chew so make sure you get that (will remain, things along with reptiles) if you are getting Corys. A brush nose catfish is well with the great land, but also the needs of driftwood. Remember, however, reported drift wood tannins in the water, giving a murky brown and will float at first too. bristle nose only gets 4 inches in length and can hold one. A Betta, 6 neons, and a pig nose PLEC woulnd't overload the tank, as long as you make your weekly water change. My suggestestion in the order in bike? Betta first, then the catfish, then neon. Good luck!
