moonlight aquarium
lighting saltwater aquarium?

I have aa 50ltr marine live rock 4 fish 2 cleaners and a starfish + 2 snails and a crab you need to exit the moonlight all night, and any advice on nitrates will be a bonus as it takes to bring it down we made a change 50% water as the 100 level was very high, we have reduced to about 50 so any advice welcome thanx

In light of the moon can help corals, but in my tank without corals use only for the night. You can leave them on all night, but isn't necessary. if you have a timer for them then set the timer for every time time I went to bed and no longer seeing the tank. when you add corals should leave them to 2-3 in the morning when would be the darkest hours of the night. in this way are just trying to simulate sunrise to sunset with white light and actinic light. and using the moonlight to reproduce the cycle of the moon. fish Arent semiphotosynthetic as corals so its not so important. Addendum: if this is a new tank and the nitrates are high, its most likely still cycleing. do not 50% change only by 15-25% at the time and allow the bacteria needed to breakdown of these wastes to build without removing so much water at once. If you then an old warehouse to publish more information on all your readings of ammonia, nitrite, pH, etc. ..
