How to configure and activate my saltwater aquarium?
Ok now I just buy all new supplies for my tank to make it in salt water. I cleaned and moved yesterdasy all fish tanks differnet. And it drained and now sits empy: Here is a list of what I bought-200gph Marineland bio-wheel filter -30 lbs of live aragonite sand -48 pounds of sea salt hydrometer -140 watt instant-Life-Glo heater light bulbs-life piece of rock now I put this in my 29 gallon fish tank. Now someone please tell me how to set this from the first step? I get the filling, but some people say that filling the tank mixing fish and salt in the tank, and others say it is mixed in buckets then dump in the tank. So even when the salt is right can put you at the Sandy immediately or wait? and when you put the sand in the filters to be shut out? FIRST TIME TRYING TO SALT WATER TANK (you know that already lol)
It is not ideal to mix the salt on the same day that the addition of live rock and live sand, but it will be well filling the tank with water, get out there and get the heater and need some type of motor or pump to mix the salt to dissolve. If you do not have one, you need to mix by hand so the salt dissolves faster. Once your check is dissolved with the hydrometer that salinity is at any level in aimiing. Mine is in 1.025SG. Biowheel set the lights and filter while obtaining the salt is dissolved. Then add the live rock as you want it sits at the base of the tank and not in the sand bed as it can have a rock fall and destroy tank if you put it in the sand. Finally add the sand.
