Does anyone use ColorMax Lamp Coralife aquarium fish tank?
I'll be the establishment of a 180 gallon tank of cichlids. and wondered how felt about ColorMax Coralife bulbs .. Any information would be helpful, Thanks i do not have plants in the tank
Personally, I am not Coralife a big fan, I used your product for a year (standard fluorescent bulb life) in a planted aquarium and saw the benefits. It was not bright enough and I was not impressed with the color shown on my show guppies. I have since changed the Zoo Med bulbs and my plants and the color is much better. I would recommend for your configuration, either your Sun Ultra Tri-color or coral Sun 50/50 if you have the blues cichlid Lamprologus nice as brichardi. I personally use a reef-sun and sun flowers for my plants established. Zoo-Med is also a "green" company, but if not do a good product alone is not sufficient for me to recommend. I can only recommend the bulb MFG. I use in my planted tanks, I'm not trying to tell you to buy the plant lights. The two foci recommended for installation is not "plant" bulbs. The ultra-Sol is a Tri-color bulb which means that the spectrum has been simulated in full sun with matches trichromatic (chemicals that electrons are excited to shine fluorescent light bulbs) The full spectrum will make all the colors of your fish stand out. Reef recommended bulb is called 50/50, since it has half the full-spectrum sunlight matches and half actinic "matches." The phosphurs Actinic are putting out a strong blue, simulating sunlight after having penetrated several feet of water on the seabed. Because the 50/50 contains phosphorous encourage saltwater reef setup, which makes blues in cichlids I mentioned above really shine and still contains 50% of triple light Full day-color matches to carry out the other colors too. Coralife bulb also offers a tri-color and a light bulb 50 / 50, but none of these are the "Color Max" line. I have only tested the maximum color and left me wanting. I did not try any other source of Coralife lines after that the maximum color.
