Is it safe to put a fish tank on a hardwood floor?
I have something like a 55 gallon fish tank, and the stand it’s on now looks like it’s about to collapse. I can’t afford a new one, so I want to put it on the floor. We have hard wood floors. Would it damage the floor if I kept a rug under it? Or what else could I put under it to keep it from damaging the floor, but doesn’t cost too much? I’d love to get an aquarium stand but I just can’t afford it.
The tank will cause moisture on the floor and make an ugly place. The rug too.
Looking in some resale shops might find you a table that can hold the tank.
