i have a 5 gallon fish tank (small), and 4 total fish?
3 in a small school, about in one inch in length. then i bought a chinese sucker fish, which was added after a week of the tank running. it died, then bought another a week later, and it died too. any suggesstions here? too many fish? extra food needed?
I wouldn’t go with a Chinese sucker fish since they get 5 inches long (NOT a foot long…) But rather go with an oto since their adult size is 2 inches. You don’t have too many fish in your 5 gallon. I have 10 female guppies in mine at an inch long, and the quality of the water is perfect, and they are all 1 and 1/2 years old. As long as you clean the tanks routinely, have a good bacteria/algae cycle, and a good filter in your tank, you can have a few more fish in your tank too.
Check your water quality like pH, nitrite, nitrate, and ammonias to make sure that your tank’s parameters are healthy for your fish.
