Can you build a misting system with a fish tank pump?
I’m looking to make a automatic misting system using the fish tank pump and tubes, and using a small nozzle to mist the water that flows out would this work. I also would like to plug it into a timer and set it so I can maintain a proper humidity for my reticulated python. Any other suggestions would be great.
I think it can be done. You might need a larger pump, or at least one that would produce more pressure. You’d also need a small enough nozzle that could produce a mist. Most likely something you’d have to research online, but may be available at your local hardware store. If you’re Trying to regulate the humidity, the water source (e.g. a bucket, spout, etc.) would have to be outside of the tank. Obviously. There are also certain timers you can purchase to allow a periodic on/off pattern. I think the shortest increment of time is about a minute, but I could be wrong. You might have to adjust the water pressure or insert some sort of flow stop similar to what they use in bars to only let a certain amount of alcohol come out of the bottle. Good luck!
