Is packing tape toxic for your fish tank?
I have a double Betta fish tank, but the divider is clear so the two Betta fish are constantly trying to get to each other and very stressed. I want to put white paper on one side of the divider and cover it with clear packing tape.
Will packing tape be toxic to put in the fish tank?
Do you have any other suggestions so that the two fish can not see each other?

I’ve dropped tape in my tanks a number of times.
Seriously, though, there’s nothing toxic in the tape that I know of, but the stickum on the tape is not waterproof. If you use that tape in a wet or underwater application, it will come loose and your whole project will fall apart.
I’d say you do need something opaque between the bettas, so they don’t wear themselves out constantly flaring at each other. Betta breeders often put a white card between each betta jar.
Could you perhaps cut a piece of black (or any opaque color) plastic to replace the divider that came with the tank?
Here’s another idea (but I make no warantee it will work): Take out the divider and use fine sandpaper to scratch up both sides of the divider until they are no longer transparent. Then replace the divider in the tank.
