help with tropical fish tank??
Wonder if anyone can help me ??? im buying a tropical fish tank For my boyfriend as a surprise and want to get it all ready for when he comes out of hospital for a surprise…… i have got a tank off my friend who has said i need to replace the strip bulbs and a starter… do i need to replace both lights or will the fish be ok with just one light for now? as my lounge is pretty well lit…also any ideas of nice fish? l do want some angel fish but any other ideas would be great,

The tank does look better if the light is on but you don’t need it on all day because it can cause the bacteria to multiply. Angel fish are nice, also get some neons because they are colourful and pretty. Guppies have nice colourful tails. Also get a sucking loach because they feed off the cr@p in the tank, keeping it clean. They also look funny when they are stuck on the glass. A nice looking fish that we had was a siamese fighter, It was a really pretty fish but you can’t put 2 males together because they will fight. We actually lost a few fish because the fighter was attacking them. Apparently they will attack red or blue fish.
Hope this helps but you could get some advice from your local pet shop. They should be able to tell you the best fish for your tank.
