what size hood do i need for my fish tank?
I have a 20 gallon fish tank. The dimensions are 24 1/4″L x 12 1/2″ W x 16 3/4″ H. There is a lip on the top for the hood. I am looking at getting a Marineland LED hood or LED light. They have an 18 – 24″ or 24 – 36″. Does anyone have experience with these? Does the light clip on the outside of the tank or inside?
i dont know about marineland lights but most led lights – unless they state it in the ad – do not come with clips, you’ll need to buy those separately or hang the lights over the tank, in which case you’ll need brackets and whatnot made for that size of light. i would assume you need a 24″ hood/light, it needs to be the length of the tank. if you plan to get a bigger tank down the road you might want to get the 24-36 one, if not the 18-24 one will be fine.
