4 Ways To Decorate Tropical Fish Tanks
Decorating is a very important part of setting up new tropical fish tanks. You want your aquarium to be beautiful and eye catching, plus the fish will be thankful to you cause you just made their life little more like the one they live in nature. Little guys will feel much more comfortable and you will have an easier job acclimating fish you just bought when they have a place to hide or your aquarium resemble them of their natural habitat.
Here are 4 common ways of decorating your tank:
1. Roots
Great way of decorating your tank, they come in all sizes for smaller and larger tanks. Some fish will find it a great hide-out (like corydoras family). Roots are best if you attach a plant like anubias to it.
2. Stones
They can be helpful if you want to separate various parts of your tank, if you want to create terraces or you can just spread few of them on surface. You can also build caves from them using Aquarium silicon.
3. Fake plants
I have a mixed feelings about fake plants but if you are short on lighting or have a poor soil they can be good solution. Also if you have helix plague fake plants can be temporary solution in decorating your tank.
4. Caves
Great hide place for your more timid fish like mentioned corydoras or clown loach, also they can serve as a “safe house” for fry (baby fish).
