The Best Corner Fish Tank?
There’s lots of, options when it comes to picking a new tropical fish tank or aquarium (some great, some bad and some best forgotten!) When I came to search for a new aquarium for my lounge the choices were a tad bit more limited as, due to a recent spate of decorating plus some new furniture I was forced to have a look at corner fish tanks.
Fortunately, I’ve got some good size corners in my living room! After a fair bit of indecision I finally selected the Juwel Trigon 350 (the big brother of the Juwel Trigon 190.) The Trigon 350 is really a complete affair in so much as included within the package is lighting, a filter, a pump plus a heater. Information on the actual specifications are listed further down in the following paragraphs.
The unit is manufactured with a suspended base which eliminates the requirement of polystyrene ‘stackers’ between the aquarium and the base unit.
The aquarium itself, as the name suggests, holds a remarkable 350 litres of water. It can be used as a tropical fish tank, marine fish tank or for cold water fish. There isn’t any doubt that it is a good size piece of kit nevertheless manages to look stylish without looking too bulky. The straight glass sides measure 87 cm each with the fantastic looking curved glass front section being approximately 123 cm. The height of the aquarium is 65 cm. The base unit/cupboard has matching length and breadth dimensions but stands at a height of 73 cm. Black silicone is utilized throughout which adds to the stylish quality look of the whole ensemble. It’s worth pointing out at this time that even though base unit/cupboard is very practical (the open back enables all of your cables and pipes to be nicely hidden from view and there’s a lot of storage space for all your fishkeeping bits and bats!) and looks tidy enough it is not going to raise the heartbeats of any antique dealers!

To summarise, I viewed a lot of fish tanks for sale but I am very happy with my purchase (by the way the RRP is £1,296.92 but you should be looking to pay around the £950 mark). It looks excellent in the corner of my newly decorated living room. The only thing that I am looking to change is the filter (internal, submerged filters aren’t really my thing so I will look to replace this with a decent external filter soon but that’s just my preference and not a criticism of tank set up).
