how many fish can i put in a 55 gallon fish tank?

i have a 55 gallon tank and it has 2 filters both 55 gallon filters a heater and a nother device that curculates the water is a cirlce shaped and stays a inch below the water im not sure wat is called cuz my dad bought it and said i would need it it also has a orange propeller in the middle this should be everything i need now how many fish can a put in it i want a couple different sized ones maybe from 3″-7inch fish

Kind of vague…
Filters that say “up to 55 Gallon” are seldom anywhere near enough.
And,depending on the brand and flow, two may not be enough.

The other device sounds like it’s a powerhead…if so,it’s only for circulation. It’s not an absolute necessity unless keeping fish that require higher circulation.

A rule that says “1 inch per 1 gallon” is very general. It only takes into account small, slender, fish like Tetras and Danios…not the girth (body thickness) or height of the body. Also doesn’t take into account the metabolism and habits of fish.Very general, outdated rule that should only be discussed after the type of fish is determined for husbandry purposes…not used to determine how many fish.

How many fish depends on the type and habits YOU want…and how much effort you want to put into maintaining them.

Research what YOU want to try…make a list,Start at the top and see if you have the room and can handle the care for it…if not,go down the list.

…and make sure the tank is completely cycled BEFORE you try anything.
