i need some ideas to stock my hex 5 five gallon fish tank it has a heater and bio wheel filter?
I had a male betta for six months and just recently he died..any ideas of what else i could maybe put in it..?
I’d stick with single Bettas in a tank that size and with limited surface area. You might get two or three guppies, white cloud minnows, or platties in them, but not much more.
You just have to limit yourself to two or three fish who’s combined body lengths will not exceed 5″ in fully grown. Your options are fairly limited.
Nice thing about the Betta is, even though the tank’s surface area is small and oxygen exchange is limited, the fish’s labyrinth organ allows it to breathe directly from the surface. Except for Gourami’s, I don’t know of other fish with that ability.
