what to do about my betta fish’s tank?
About a week ago, I bought a Bernie’s Cove for Betta tank in the hopes of getting a betta fish soon. Tonight in my dorm building, they gave out free betta. The thing is, my betta’s tank didn’t come with a plant decoration. Will he be OK for a few days (3 or 4) without a decorative plant in his aquarium? I don’t have my car here at school but I can get one over the weekend.
The plant is no big deal really, get it when you can. Would have been better to finish cycling first, though. Change about 20% of your water every few days in the meantime, and get a test kit to check your water. If anything spikes, you can probably find an appropriate water treatment to help get it back under control.
Just keep up the water changes and check your water quality and buy one of those small syphon/vacuums, and he’ll probably be fine. They can “survive” in much worse conditions, but not well. Read up on cycling, and do the best you can in the meantime. Bettas like water between like 76 and 83. I think your kit probably came with a heater.
Did you dechlorinate you water? The kit probably came with that.
