How do you get rid of orange colored algae in my fish aquarium? I have one goldfish in a twenty gallon tank.?
My family went away for 1 week and we had an automatic food feeder to feed the fish. When we came back, there were orange spots on the glass and the white rocks were now the same orange. We took out a third of the water and put the fish in another bowl. Then, we took out all the rocks and washed them. We weren’t really sure if this was the right thing to do. We have the fish back in the tank, now. If there is anything else that we should do please answer!!!
Keeping the tank clean is the right thing to do. Algae constantly grows. You can also make sure the tank is not by a window and the light is only on a minimal amount during the day. At least until this stuff clears up.
