Do you have an aquarium light in a 10 liter tank cause the algae to become a problem? We changed 2 gallons every 2wk
I thought keeping light during the day and drop at night simulates the normal cycle of a day. Thoughts???
Algae reguire both, light and nutrients. So yes the made in light encourage algae to grow. If the tank is not planted, then only run the lights when you want to see the fish. Normal light levels room are fine for fish to swim and run errands. If you have live plants then it is more of a balancing act with the light and nutrient levels. So you need light for plants, but if you ever go wrong will use the free nutrients in the water and leave little for the algae. So thats 2 different strategies. Planted tank = more plants and light. Sow = less light The day / night cycle is a natural thing, but so is the algae. Just look in any pond, you'll find tons of algae 100% natural. Ian
