I'm assuming therefore that the "corals" are false. If not, the tank will not be healthy freshwater fish. By the way, "Tropical" is in reference to temperature and regions of the world. This does not mean "sweet water." Most fish salt water aquariums are tropical. There are plenty of fresh water, nice plants that look good and are healthy for an aquarium. There will be "right" to a who knows corals, etc, but must look good in general. The appearance is a subjective thing.
