bowfront aquarium
Would a 8500K bulb for a 16 gallon planted aquarium?

Just bought a new bowfront aquarium. And I want to do a planted aquarium, it is 16 gallons. Not set a new strip light on it, so I have to use a 18 "bulb. I read that power does not matter, is the rate of degrees Kelvin. So that I am seeing the light bulb is 8500K … Will that work?

Well, power does not matter, because a higher power, will produce a brighter light. A nominal 18-inch "normal output" straight fluorescent bulb is probably 15-20 watts, which would be sufficient for most plants in such a small tank. 8500K (Kelvin) is the color temperature. " sunlight outdoors is about 5,000 K (in other words, light yellow-white). Anything above 5000K is bluer than sunlight, and anything less than 5000 K is redder than sunlight. About 15,000 to 20,000 K or above is considered significant blue "Actinic light." actinic light is particularly useful when trying to grow organisms (such as many corals) that live quite deep in the ocean, 8500K but is close enough to the sunlight that would be considered a day "bulb. It would be good for most aquatic plants.
