What kind of feeder fish should I get?
Currently I have a heated and filtered DIVIDED 10 gallon aquarium with a male Betta only on one side and a dwarf puffer fish on the other. Christmas vacation is coming and I do not see how it will be practical to bring two of my two children home with me on a journey of four hours, so that the logic as I could get to is to invest in an automatic feeder fish to feed in the three weeks while he's gone. Need something that will dispense a small amount of food every two days, and I think the food is filled with freeze dried blood worms, since they can survive in him (pellets Betta front and baby shrimp) Does anyone have ANY suggestions on what brand or type of automatic fish feeder should I buy? I have read many comments negative about the cheapest sold in Wal-Mart.
lol I am facing the same exact problem with the fish this Christmas MI. Just … I have a 25 gallon with guppies and a pleco … I left during the Thanksgiving holiday with feeders weekend is supposed to last several days, and has yet to look at all healthy when I returned, so I'll just break down and pack them for my house four hours by car this Christmas! My advantage is that my parents happen to have a tank cylcing emptiness in the home, so just pop into your little room during the break. But take a 10gallon isn't going to be all that horrible, really. Only drain most water, pack your fish in plastic bags for the unit, and a setback when I get home! While you have the water at 50% or less, and must splash out. And her little fishes should be fine, though I recommend putting in a dark place, like under a towel, to minimize shock.
