Filters for saltwater aquarium?
I am setting up a saltwater tank FOWLR 10 gallon. I plan to eventually add a soft coral few. I'll be getting two Ocellaris clownfish. I have a 10 Quietflow Aqueon filter made for 20 gallons. I have a 15 gallon whisper filter I can not decide if I should use. What thik? Also, if I use it I need a powerhead yet?
In a 10 gallon tank for clownfish and live rock, which is like about 150 to 280 gph of water movement, more or less. The Aqueon is not adequate and a small powerhead or additional filter would be necessary. One of the smaller / medium Rio powerheads Mini would be about right for the additional water flow, like a Mini Rio 90. Any small head of power should be enough, but try to keep below 200gph powerhead or creative position not to be too current. Or since you have the whisper, add in the flow.
