Is it better to use sand as a bottom of an aquarium African Dwarf Frog, if so, how clean the sand?
I read that the sand is better when you have a tank so you only African dwarf frog. Although I also read that sometimes will eat the sand, by accident, when it comes to getting food. But I know it is safer for your sensitive skin. But how do I clean it? I could not use the gravel vacuum usual, suck all the sand, but would still have to be cleaned. It's in a tank with regular aquarium rock now, but I'm worried because I read that sometimes will confuse a tiny piece of food and could eat and die from it. So what is better? Any advice for this is appreciated. Thank you!
Well, first, the procedure that contained in the Real is the last thing you want to do. Making eliminate all bacteria in the filter and sand bed that consume the waste of frogs. Without these bacteria, poison frogs in a matter of days. The sand is fine, gravel is fine, in fact, not mind. If they eat sand, you just poop back out or spit back. No big deal. To clean the tank, all you need do is use the siphon hose and hovering above the sand. The sand is sufficiently dense that stays put, but the waste will be sucked. Creating a stream with your hand or with a hose will also pick some up in the water, making it more easy to suck. DO NOT remove the frogs, sand, or decoration to clean the tanks (tank leaked, I guess).
