Was this something you would be interested?
I'm an amateur and experienced fish biologist, and my boyfriend is a software engineer. I been thinking about working with him to create a "fish tank calculator" that would be accessible for free on the Internet. Basically, it would a kind of database where you could enter the dimensions and parameters of your tank (cold / tropical … planted / unplanted … ect) and fish intends to stock with. Then with the push of a button, I would say a) if your aquarium seeks to establish will b) would not work, why (ie. saturated, the mixture of tropical fish with coldwater fish … predator mix / pray … and so on.) This will take much time and research on my part, as intend to include as many species as possible, but I am curious if this is something that the general population of aquarium hobbyists would be interested in this type of tool to help stock your aquarium?
I think this would be of interest and useful for most fans. I to the compatibility of based on aggressiveness, the temperature requirement, and the like. Since then I have been trying to base my answers on the necessary hardness, pH requirements, etc. that wouild be wonderful.
