I need some advice for dealing with a leaking tank.?
Hello. I was given a 55-gallon tank with all accessories. The only problem is that leakage bad tank along the bottom edges. I was wondering if anyone has tried the aquarium sealant is at Wal-Mart and how well it works. This is a tank of beautiful and would really like to be able to repair it and use it. Thanks in advance!
All you need is a sharp knife, a non-toxic aquarium sealant and an old cloth. Use the knife and carefully cut all the old aquarium sealant. You may want to do this for all the tank and the sealer may be old and lead to leaks around the tank. So using the old knife and cut the old sealant much. Wash with a damp cloth and let dry a few minutes. Apply a line around all edges with sealant on only half the width of your index finger sideways. Smooth out with a piece of cardboard and make sure it is in contact with two corners and all the way into the seam where the two pieces of glass found and let dry for 72 hours. Hope this helps. Fill the tank with water in small quantities only if the seal somewhere soon and start to leak and need a little more sealer. Better to get 5 gallons of tank 55!
