aquarium salinity
salinity of the new saltwater aquarium is low?

Hello, my new saltwater tank is running now. while the salinity is lower -1.014 / 19ppt. How to raise, can I just add more salt, mix until it reaches 1.022? also, the only thing in the tank is live sand … uhh-ohh, I added the right to the aquarium, is defenately Rasing salinity. Everything seemed to be trapped in the stream and the solution, (i poured slowly) before reaching the sand .. How do I make sure that does not sit on the bottom, in the sand?

Yes, you want to keep adding salt, but do not add the aquarium directly. Everything sinks to the bottom and create an area where the salinity is excessive and could affect your bacteria. Instead, take some of the water (use a clean jar with the tag is removed), mix a little salt in the water in the bottle. Add the water in the reservoir to reach the right salinity. Depending on the size of your tank, start with about 1 / 2 cup and see the effect. If all the salt is not dissolved, pour the water from the top and add water to the bottle as many times as necessary. Also: it dissolves within minutes, but the mix of salt out of the tank in the future (may cause a burn on the fish, if you have concentrated salt them!). If you put too much in the tank, you can get very high salinity. Once dissolved, the salt will not see more.
