
Substrate of sand can ruin an aquarium filter?
Just wondering if it stirs the sand, and rises in the filter can damage it? I have a filter rather weak, the Red Sea Deco Art Nano in a 10 gallon tank, because I have a single Betta and Betta do not like currents. I intend to add a small species of Corydoras, and I've read that they prefer the sand, so I'm planning to do a 8:2 ratio of sand to land. I wonder if that could damage my filter, and only if you must stay with the gravel. The deposit is not just for the Male betta more, we add Corydoras, that's what's in the sand.
