Is there anything I can do to keep clean longer. completely cleaning about once a quarter and one-tenth of the ceramics changed weekly. There are five small fish there. please help cos it seems disgusting …. thanx
It is possible that the tank is over stocked and this could be causing the problem, but even if not I suggest you change routine maintenance. It is possible that the tank is cloudy because it is too clean. I know that it makes little sense, but true. You need a certain amount of bacteria to keep the water clean and the cleaning completely eliminates this bacterium. Never clean completely. Change 25% of the water once a week and clean the gravel and do it. A vacuum of gravel from the pet shop is the easiest way to do this. Clean the filter and put in new carbon every time you clean your tank. Try this for a couple of weeks and see if does not heal and stay away for you. MM
