The best choice for freshwater aquarium lower ph?
So the tap water here in Austin is around around 8.5-8.7 Ph. Gh 6. I still sprecies several of the Amazonian fish, so this pH is too high. I'd like to get stable at around 7.2. I've been adding small amounts API bowfront Tel Down to my 46g, with some success, although I'm trying to take it easy. Thank you for your understanding. I wonder if this is the most efficient way to achieve low and remain stable. Is there a better product out there? As filters, Aquarium Pharmaceuticals purifier is good feedback, but going for 50 bones and 25 for a Cartidge replacement every 150 gallons. I wonder Britta filter can not be a cheaper option for a similar result. And if I do not use filtering, I'm leaving it open to change pH of the buffer ion missing?
Peat is usually best to lower your pH.
