Should I turn my aquarium light off at night?
I have an Oscar and a Pleco. Here's the thing I do a heater for my tank and when the light is which remain around 80degrees but when I turn it off, next morning, the temperature will be around 72degrees. So what is more important Temperature stable water or sunset? Or is this temperature drop, even a great business?
I'm Sorry, I disagree that the fish is well with that kind of temperature change. If the water temperature changes dramatically when you turn the light can be harmful to fish. And it sounds like to me too your Oscar may be in a relatively small tank? He must be at least a 75 gallon tank, preferably a 100 liter tank as these fish are HUGE, and very very messy fish. You really need to buy a heater for fish so they can stay at an appropriate temperature (74-76 constant would be nice). Think yourself standing naked in a heated house, then go out in a snow storm …… how would you feel? It would be a shock to your system, and if your water is chilling 8 degrees in 6 to 8 hours, that's a big difference. (This is my opinion, but I can direct you to websites to support what I say).
