I'm trying to connect an aquarium filter?
I have a Whisper 20-40 filter aquarium. I have to set up and filled with water. When I connect, I hear the performance engine but no siphon is being filled. I can not seem to get the siphon part to keep the water so it can draw water into the filter. What is the trick I'm missing? Thank you all. I had already done everything suggested … so I changed to a new one. Voila ', the trick is all I need the engine went bad. That in turn, just not anywhere near fast enough. Thanks again.
A few things to check – one, be sure you have all parts installed correctly. The absorption tube is safe and directly on the impeller (propeller piece that fits into a well in the engine and actually moving water). The absorption tube should be adjusted so that the bottom of the curve "U" is sitting in the filter and directly on the impeller. AquaClears have a plaque that fits between the absorption tube and the driver must be in place to create the right amount of suction. Secondly, most filters have a method of adjusting the flow rate. For AquaClear filters, the entire tube becomes a hand – that must come directly from the filter is not at an angle. so you have aspiration Max. Third, make sure you are not getting any air leak in the catchment where the pieces join. Pour water over the tube itself on the side tank and you should be able to see if any air bubbles. The tank should be filled all the way to the top or Mose creates stress on the engine by lifting the higher water (too low a water level also makes it slow to start working and get the water back into the tank if the power goes out and not start again when the power comes from). I had some bad engines, so if necessary, pull the intake manifold out and make sure the rotor spins at a constant speed. If is not becoming at all (the engine will HUM) or seems slow, try cleaning the pit where it is, and if that does not solve the problem, return to a new one.
