I was thinking about moving my betta fish to a larger aquarium. I own a beginner betta for more information.?
I've heard of the Mini Bow 2.5 liters tank and wondered if it was a good choice. Do I need a heater for the tank size? If power so how much? What type of filter is not yu i suggest using? I know bettas do not like strong currents and can damage their fins. It is the light bulb? and finally how much the tank? MIL GRACIAS!
I do not think it correct to say bettas "and" smaller tanks, however, while definitely can live in them. And care of the aquarium is fairly easy. But go! Good work considering a new home for your betta. Plenty of space makes them happy. : D (and this will be a lot of information, sorry xD) I have been researching the 2.5 mini bow myself recently. From what I've seen is a good size facility (2.5 gallons? Definitely!). The only problems I've heard about it are the complaints about the filter. It seems that many are too large, so that change the filter that comes with the Mini bow for a Red Sea Deco Art Nano Filter. I think you should be able to find this at pet stores and, possibly, Wal-Mart. It is also a good filter itself as well, from what I've heard many others say. A heater temperature depends on where you keep your betta. get a thermometer and find out what is the average temperature. Bettas can live in a temperature range of 75-82 degrees Fahrenheit. They can live at lower temperatures, though (mine does well in 71-72 degrees, although I can not say I am happy with the temperature), but you should try to keep the water warm. You can try to find a heater Junior, with a range of 10-25 watts. These can be difficult to find, however. A general rule is 5 watts per gallon on a heater. You can try to put a larger heater in the tank, but you need to watch carefully for a while maintaining the right temperature before putting your betta in order to facilitate the heating, you can choose a Bow 5 Gallon Mini instead and get a 25 W heater. Search all. I can not say if the light is glowing, though. Probably is. Just remember to turn the light off in night because the fish need to sleep too long. I think the tank can cost between $ 20-35 depending on where you get it. Furthermore, the shell should be cleaned also and most importantly, must be cyclic, which means that bacteria must be adequate to really make the filter of usefulness. (So when you get your tank, do not put it in!) Try to clean around 30% of water a week, and the vacuum of the gravel (you can find the empty gravel in pet stores that are simple to use and should not be expensive), while you're at it to get rid of old food and fish poop. Each month, I suggest you do a 50% water and Clean the glass change (carefully) and such. A good site for beginners that explains the care of the aquarium and the nitrogen cycle is very important here: http://fins.actwin.com/mirror/begin-cycling.html Perhaps, the cycle of the tank, it can try taking the dirty water from your old betta bowl and put in the tank instead of fresh water, to start the nitrogen cycle up.
