Aquarium Lighting?
AQUA Hello experts. Ok, so if I have a light hood 23.25 inches long and uses two incandescent bulbs. I heard incandescent light did not promote plant growth so what if I put in energy efficient light bulbs are bulbs floursent combat. will that work? So I buy a real T5 or T8 lighting fixture or is that you can use only energy efficient light bulbs? My current campaign has two bulbs and incandsent I want to know if it's a good idea to replace it with low-energy.
A T-5 or T-8 strip would be fantastic, offering production and much more more useful light. However, they also come with a much higher price. You're right about the incandescent light useless alone (which can be used strongly complement the blue light, but requires lots of space and lots of work), but switching to compact fluorescents (the swirly) the same voltage is a great idea. I just did this in my 10 gallon tank, changing a standard fluorescent tube to a chapel and two 15-watt incandescent, 5,500 K compact fluorescent lamps. The remarkable growth is now and reached a much cheaper price than fluorescent bulbs. T-5/T-8 is better than CFLs, and both are much better than incandescent, so anything would be an update, it just depends on how much to spend.
