Light for 10 gallon planted aquarium?
I plan to grow my 10 gallon aquarium (with Betta and Cory Panda) in a heavily planted tank. So far I have Java Moss, I would accept any suggestions to facilitate knowledge and very attractive plants. Anyway, I have to buy a hood. Under the guidance of a sent the previous answer, I went to Petco and bought a bell with two incandescent incandescent light bulbs, which originally had said he could throw away the two bulbs and insert two screws in compact fluorescent bulbs, but could not be so returned it. Now I need suggestions for a good hood and / or a very powerful light. I heard that the 3 WPG (watts per gallon) is the minimum you need, but more generic fluorescent hoods come with a 15-watt bulb that is all. I do not know what to do, please include links to your answers, thanks.
You could get 2-3 T-2 fluorescent lamps: http://americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquariumbulb.html Do not be fooled that only produce 13 watts – less bulbs classification (T-5) deeper into deeper water, so that T-2 will penetrate deeply:) or you could get 2 of the first option are PowerCompact.html http://americanaquariumproducts.com/ screw and work with his hood. Are 15 watts each, and 2 of them to provide ~ 3 WPG. Although this is 24 "which is for a 20 gallon tank, the lamp bulb is still inside the aquarium: http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/209302/product.web Plus is the T-5:) E-mail me with any questions! EDIT: Here is a great plant site to find plants different based on different categories: http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide.php
