aquarium heaters 25 watt
Battery backup for aquarium fish?

So a friend has the fish tank: http://www.aquavistainc.com/products.html last night, power went out, and the heater is supposed to default to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 Celsius) when the power came back, but for some reason, it went to 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 Celsius). This composition killing the poor fish. (What you want is a backup battery so if the power goes out, they would like the tank to maintain the temperature. I know the tank uses 0.125 kW or 125 Watts. Can anyone recommend a solution? Edit: The entire tank (airstones, filter, heater, light) is headed by a single power cord.

First, replace the heater unit obviously faulty. I suggest you try contacting with some of the companies that make backup battery for computers. We could suggest a backup that works for a certain period of time. By Of course, the longer it lasts, the more it will cost. Using this power recently, a backup last a couple of hours should not cost too much. MM
