mineral deposits can be seen as white scratches in a glass aquarium?

I started a gallon freshwater planted tank 30 months over 4 and recently upgraded to a shiny new light fixture. I recently realized that there were hundreds of what appear scratches around the front of the tank and back. I talked to my local pet store and said that it could to the deposits. mineral deposits can be regarded as white scratches in the tank? Said to the aquarium glass is strong and should not have hundreds of lines unless someone took sandpaper to the glass or something very abrasive. If there are mineral deposits which is best way to remove them. I've heard vinegar and use a scraper made especially for aquariums. Please help …

Yes, they can. I lived in Indiana for a long time of hard rock with water (the water was all limestone groundwater and closed) and I'm done with white calcium deposits in all kinds of places in my aquarium. When I moved to an area with softer water, my tank was empty, so I made a 10-20% vinegar soak on them. It helped, but some the scabs are still there. Clearly not if you want to keep your tank is stable (and, obviously, nothing should be living there at the time). His aquarium glass is strong and should not be anything, but you can. I'm not sure what could be the cause.
