I have only used an aquarium; How do I clean the dirt off?
I just got an aquarium that has been used in storage for some time. There is a white crust accumulated on the hood and half in the top of the cup. How and what can I use to clean? I tried only with hot water and vinegar (such as websites have been told) and does not work … Please help!
NEVER EVER EVER use soap in an aquarium or anything used in the aquarium. Waste Soap is very difficult to remove completely and rediculousely toxic to fish. Windex is also very bad thing to use a tank. Windex weaken the seals of silicon in a glass tank (most likely leak) and become yellow acrylic tank! Bleach is fine, because clean water and evaporates quickly. Viniger is good for calcium and lime. Salt is good to mix with water to form an abrasive to help with washing. Good luck …
