What types of living plants to use in my 55gal tank of fresh water?
The water has salt in the same aquarium before fish (mollies and guppies). The tank has no fish and I am trying to transfer to living plants. The pH is around 7.0-7.3. and the temperature is 82F. Rock surface. Low voltage lights. and two filters and biowheel Marineland Emperor.
Reduce salt in the first place. Depending on the concentration, plants can not be happy with the salt in water. Nothing fixed to 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons is good for plants. It also lowers the heat to 78F. Most of the fish and plants are happier in the high 70's. The Most plants will not do very well at 80F.
