DIY aquarium decoration ideas?
I bought a fake, neon cave, and when I cleaned my tank to let my new cycle filter DIY I put in the new cave. Some of the paint came off in the water, it makes me think that it is safe for fish. So I want to make my own cave, but I want enough big for a goldfish-sized. I also want ALL the ideas you could think of DIY aquarium decorations, from fake plants, to the caves, the little signs that say "you're not in Kansas" and what not. thanks
Yes, that painting is probably not a good idea. I personally do not appreciate any decoration that is artificially colored by the same thing. I bought all my tank decoration in my local fish store, but if you are not interested in caves / Decor already done, you could go to a store that sells rocks and stones for gardens and patios and select a few nice looking things, and without using glue, put in your aquarium as you want. I'm sure it will be able to find a flat rock a few (make sure to sand the sharp edges) that can be stacked top of each other to make a cave in a medium-sized goldfish, and does not take much money, either. PVC pipe is also a material of great use to a cave made house for catfish, you can buy java moss or other plants that grow on top of it to hide his appearance of gray plastic.
