cleaning sand substrate in a freshwater aquarium, how can I do?
How do I clean a sandy bottom in an aquarium? Im thinkin re-settin on my new 75 gallon tank with a sand botttom, but how do I clean it? be a regular job sucker clean gravel? wouldnt that suck sand from the bottom and out of the tank? how best to use sand? I heard "Playground" of sand in a shop in home improvement is ideal for aquariums, is that true?
Use a normal gravel cleaner, but only sorta place on the substrate and suck their unwanted clutter, Playground sand is a good choice, but remember to clean the sand long before putting in your tank.
