Can the marine aquarium equipment should be used with an installation program freshwater?
I have a lot of marine aquarium equipment, the most of which is very expensive. I wanted to make fresh water next time, and I wondered if any of my marine equipment would be of no use. Here are A list of the things that concerns me most. Large filter cartridge Protein Skimmer UV Sterilizer Light Compact Power Powerheads That's more of it. If someone told me if any of this fresh water would be useful, it would be great. Thanks
The only issue that should not be used is the protein skimmer. These are based on specific gravity higher salt caused by creating tiny bubbles that enclose the dissolved porteins for disposal. In fresh water, do not get as small bubbles, so is really inefficient when it intends to do. Everything else, feel free to use, just rinse well to remove any traces of salt and calcium deposits. If you have taught a stain, use a bit of diluted vinegar or lemon juice and make sure you rinse well.
