BioCube cycle question?
I bought the sand, using my hydrometer for salinity is around 1.22, the uncle of the pet store had reason, then tested a water sample after adding some marine buffer and said he was fine and gave me 6 pounds of live rock then he advised me to buy this FTA saltwater says to add 1 / 2 oz and every 7 days to 3 weeks after repeated every 30 days. which says that the cycles aquarium in 7 days makes it sound as if it could work? What else could I do to make the cycle?
1.022 OK to start is low should be around 1,023 and 1,025. hydrometers are off by 3-5 points so that its salinity is probably around 1.030, which is very bad. I've had this problem before, so upgrade to a refractometer that cost me $ 50 on eBay. as bcaquatic said never add additives to your tank that only gets up. buy a maiden cycle your tank. best you can do is be very patient, do not rush into anything if you do nothing good will come of it.
