What should I know about adding bamboo shrimp for my aquarium?
I Buting some for my 26-gallon tank. How many should I buy? Is Compatabile with Plati, gouamis called dwarf, a Chinese algae eater and a red tail shark?
As aquatic animals, shrimp bamboo can often require very low maintenance in a large enough and mature tank. They are filter feeders that collect the waste resulting from microorganisms generated by the other inhabitants of the aquarium, and as such are absolutely safe for all tropical fish, as they have fans instead of claws. When they are more accustomed to the tank, usually turn a reddish color and shaped white spot on the back, as shown in the illustration. When obtained from a pet shop that are more brown, without a scratch. Bamboo shrimp require a stream of water to feed filter, which can only be recommended for tanks aquarium filters on them. These shrimp usually climb to reach outlets filter object, where the strong water flow. In planning the maintenance of shrimp bamboo, rocks and / or high-growing plants should be located near the outlet of the filter tank to help feed. In nature they feed on phytoplankton and zooplankton, but most of the time aquariums under 10 gallons, or tanks that have been created less than six months do not contain enough of these foods to feed a bamboo shrimp. If a bamboo shrimp is seen trying to find food in the substrate using their fans, this is a sign that not enough food in the water. In such cases should be fed algae wafers sold for Plecos, that after eating the wafer is dissolved in water, small Daphnia, newborns shrimp in brine, or finely ground flake food, once it softens and disintegrates. A good way to feed these foods is mixed with water in a syringe or pipette, injection mixing with fans of the shrimps. However, food and bamboo shrimp flake Pleco wafers can result in a negative effect on water chemistry aquarium, since any food was lost through water contaminated shrimp, and this may be especially sensitive in small tanks. For this reason, attention is recommended much attention to the tanks of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, when levels of bamboo shrimp feeding like this. Bamboo Shrimp are invertebrates and as such must move periodically to grow and this can sometimes be induced by water changes. During the time of a bamboo shrimp is silent, not even a shrimp fully developed is very weak and at risk of attack and damage of small fish like betta and larger fish alike. During practice mute is good cause shrimp can hide from any tank mates. Hope this helps. Brianna.
