Introduction to Firemouth
The Firemouth happens to be the oldest species of fish known to man in the family Cichlidae. The natural habitat Firemouth the Yucatan Peninsula and Guatemala.
Do not miss the Firemouth in a reservoir of all kinds of other fish. This fish has a color All that is apparent in the throat and chest which is usually in the red from bright red to dark brick red. However, this fish is very colorful once close and personal, you can see all the bright colors. The background color is a kind of bluish gray with a sort of purple glow. The bottom of the belly can be a green Yellow all the way to a dull orange. Behind the eyes and the beginning of the tail is a black spot on the edge of gold. If you look close enough, you can find black spots on the lower deck of gill and pectoral fins. The dorsal fin has a red border and the other fins have a brown background speckles blue-green and shiny. All of the scales are tipped with red. Of course, in addition to almost all animal species, males are more colorful than females.
The Firemouth is a tropical fish, and a cichlid, but the good news is that the Firemouth is nothing like the rest of his family. Most cichlids are actually very louts and enjoy digging and destroying everything that gets in the tank, and a little on the aggressive side. The Firemouth prefer a much cleaner area to call home and is a bit shy. He is not one to start a fight, usually keeps to himself, but somehow seems to own the tank. He can be a little territorial but usually does not bother the other fish in the aquarium.
You should buy a large aquarium containing at least 55 gallons of water. You can add things such as plants, driftwood and rocks, which will give your Firemouth a lot of places to hide when it becomes shy, but leave a free space for swimming for the days you want to shore up their things.
The number one thing to remember is that the Firemouth has an aggressive character. This does not mean that harm other fish, but also territorial. Make sure your tank is big enough for other fish to leave their territory or likely to be a fish little hurt when you get up in the morning.
