Saltwater aquarium, the algae?
I have a new tank. And they told me just to clean the front and side of the aquarium, and allow the back Aquarium to build algae. Is this a good idea? Does this really help the fish?
Its not a good idea but not a bad idea. If you have a large number of species of algae in the tank eatinging what will be food for them. Remember that if there is no accumulation of algae on the glass that no accumulation of algae its rocks, sand and any other decorations in the tank that will supply the child to eat more than enough food algae. So what it boils down to how you like the tank to watch. If you like the way of coralline algae is all stained glass in as many people do not clean it and then get all the pink and purple or whatever color to be displayed in the window of time. Personally I like a spotless tank with much of the coral coverage in my rocks, so clean all sides of the glass in my tank. I found however, that the constant scraping ditritus (greenish brown things that will first appear befor the coral has the opportunity to show) require more efficient one Protien skimmer and filter to keep water in search of green. So when it comes to it then I think it's more of a preference to be better than the other. Here is a link that will show what will coralline algae on the glass. eventually if left long enough the whole glass is covered in spots pink and purple tie dye looking takes effect on the walls you do not clean. Some people prefer that others do not you. Http: / / www.janetsreef.com/_borders/Dcp00356.jpg
